POETRY

Here you'll find poetry. Most of these pieces are relatively short and simple, though some of the best ones take advantage of tying space into the poem itself.

Disconnected

A poem. The text is in the shape of clouds raining
down on part of a building.
			The text reads:
			There is something
			distant
			in the quiet seconds
			opening
			up a chasm
			between songs
			a soft
			pitter-
			patter
a critter light on its feet, thousand legs
			resounding, bounding across a roof
a shower of water poured upon
the earth, reinvigorating dry, cracked ground
withering plants, and those hidden in their silly structures-
			though not free of the
			drip d p d p drip
			of a leaking window,
listening to the sky's very own melody.
A poem. This one is titled Twine, and the text
is in the shape of a computer.
			The text reads:
One day, I named my computer. It wasn't one I put much thought into:
			Twine. She-
			and she is such
			in the same
			way a boat
			will be she
			maybe a project
car, too- the type that sits in your neighbor's driveway for years, but
			they enjoy
			working on
it, so who are you to ruin their fun?
A poem. This one is titled Absence. It reads:
			Absence is a good word.
			It's not like lack
			which implies something is missing
Absence is like it was never there.

A large, white box sits to the left of additional text.

A lack is an open wound
			Absence is an abscess,
			waiting to pop.
